10th Anniversary Race - 30 July 2005

Standard Distance (triathlonscotland ranking race)
Standard Distance Relay
NEW Sprint Distance

We'd like to invite old friends and newcomers to this year's celebratory event. As one of the most established races on the triathlonscotland circuit, Gullane Beach Triathlon offers great racing in a fantastic setting. The race is located in a picturesque part of East Lothian about 20 miles east along the coast from Edinburgh. Gullane Bents is a beautiful sandy beach and the water at the beach has reached the highest EEC standards of cleanliness.

If you prefer a tougher challenge the Standard Distance is for you, if you like shorter and sharper then our NEW Sprint Distance race is the one to pick. And if you like teamwork, we offer Relay entry to our Standard Distance Race for teams of 3 each taking a disipline.

All competitors receive -

  • a 10th anniversary goody bag
  • post-race food
  • chance to win spot prizes

Updates:

07/08/2005 Final Standard Results. Despite the cold weather on the day, there are good photographs at IMAC Images and myRace.

31/07/2005 Sprint Results and Provisional Standard Results (require Adobe Acrobat Reader). For the standard, I'm awaiting any interim splits for a few folk who lost timing chips at various points, before calculating full rankings. I have also addressed a few anomalies in the standard results, and I've contacted those concerned - so I need to allow time for appeal.

30/07/2005 It was cold and it rained all day! A big well done to everyone who finished (or who didn't). I'm still waiting to be emailed the splits from the timing guys.

27/07/2005

The race brief is now available (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). The information in the brief supercedes some of the information on this website, so please familiarise yourself with it.

Normal entries are now closed and the waiting lists are no longer in operation, but there will be a few entries available at registration
- there are a few late entries for the standard event
- there are no late entries for the sprint event
- there is a £10 surcharge for late entry, incorrect payment will be refused
- late entries will only be handled at registration
- late entries cannot be reserved in advance
- once they're gone, they're gone
- late entries will all go off in wave 2
- registration is at 16:00-19:30 at Bicycleworks Triathlon Centre on Fri 29th and 07:30-08:30 at Gullane Beach on Sat

The start lists have been finalised with placeholders for the spare entries. There will be no additional changes to the start lists.

There is no longer any possibility of a refund should you wish to withdraw. This was covered in your email receipt.

17/07/2005 Option to pay by cheque at EntryCentral removed, because we won't be able to acknowledge any cheques arriving after Tuesday 19/07

30/05/2005 The 2005 Website goes live.

02/04/2005 Online registration opens at www.EntryCentral.net. The price is the same if you pay online or with a paper form. If you don't like paying for things on the 'net, you can still fill in the form online and you'll be told how to send us a cheque. To keep costs down this year, we will not be printing paper entry forms.

This year we will be using RaceAhead for event timing.
